Education Committee

Provides members with an ongoing source of education opportunities, based on current industry standards. Assists with coordinating education sessions & luncheon speakers at the monthly meetings. and the spring convention. May also work on NMLS CE class offerings. 

Future Leaders Committee

A subcommittee of Education

Prepares candidates for future development and volunteer service in the Association.  Establishes criteria & develops materials for the program. Responsible for selecting candidates from submitted applications from member companies and instructing these candidates on the expectations and value of the program. Recruits members to meet with and mentor these candidates throughout the program. The committee will inform the candidates of the requirements and steps required to complete the program. They will assist in helping the candidates select a class project to present the membership. They will also work with them on the curriculum and make sure all class work is completed.

Membership Committee

Contacts and encourages mortgage and related companies to join MBAAL and participate in events. Plans and coordinates social gatherings to encourage membership.  Receives and follows up on leads for potential members.

Financial Literacy Committee

A subcommittee of Education

Coordinates with High School and college academic leaders in the study of financial literacy. 

1) Responsible for contacting Higher Education Schools to obtain approval and establish dates/locations for events. 

2) Obtains materials and finds instructors / volunteers to present to students. 

3)  Committee members will volunteer to instruct students in the areas of finance; including but not limited to: checking accounts, debt, credit, financing of future homes, cars, etc.

Legislative-Regulatory Committee

Keeps MBAAL informed & updated on industry-related legislation. Assists in review, analysis, and strategy for the Association to deal with state legislation & regulatory issues, with occasional federal legislation and regulatory issues. Chair also helps the general membership in the understanding of the legislative process when these issues arise.

Convention Committee

Co-Chairs: Oversees convention operations and solicits sponsorships & exhibitors.

Education: secures speakers, moderators & topics for education sessions. Plans and oversees entertainment for the convention.
